ARTIST STATEMENT 

形象語言體態  | IMAGERY LANGUAGE FORM   

如果一個影像是一個快門, 或許素描就像是一連串連續不斷的快門,透過重復曝光的方式, 成像在同一個平面上; 又或者一個影像接著一個影像, ​成為一種連續不斷, 系列性的觀察和表達.  他具備成為介於繪畫,影像和語言之間, 一種混沌, 異質產物的可能性; 同時也不侷限於單一媒介來顯露. 

While an image is a shot, perhaps sketching can be seen as a an action of a continuous shooting process, by overlap of exposures there is an imagery form appear on a surface.To me, sketch has the potential to be a chaotic , heterogeneous product in between drawing, image and language.

猶如鐘擺在兩端來回擺盪 - 為的是保持靜止。
素描做為頃刻的存在 - 傾向於動態的測量, 關乎於位置, 而非只是單純的描繪. 
 

在我的創作中,自由素描做為捕捉、以及重構生活經驗的記憶與方法,是一連串對事物覺知的動態描述與測量一個不斷流動變化的互動整體、是一種或者多種頻率素描不僅僅是在一個固定支點對於觀測物所做的多維度考察,同時也是在自身的不斷移動之中,去捕捉相對的路徑。它既不是用來界定事物的輪廓,因而也不在乎具象或者抽象的二分法、物質或精神的二元性、主體與客體的爭奪; 作為一種定位、測量以及描述的方法,事物影響著我們如何感知事物、而我們所採取的測量與描述方式、也同樣影響著事物被感受的狀態; 因而在時間與空間之中,沒有任何一刻是相同的、又或者是相異的。

 

 

動態平衡 | Dynamic -Equilibrium

自由素描所「朝向」的定位和平衡,皆不是在繪畫平面上的考量;而是個體相對於事物之間的關係。因此,它是一個持續地運動、並且不斷保持著平衡的過程;這個平衡點並非固定的一個位置,而是一種狀態、由整體系統的運動之中因應著各種張力而趨近動態平衡的結果 — 從平衡點移動到平衡點、從中心移動到中心。

 

時間觀 | Perspective of time

它不是關於雕刻時間的。由於時間並非一個固定的感受或物體— 因此它永遠是投入於「當下」、「頃刻」的。時間並無過去和未來之分,而是過去未來和現在彼此涵蓋的分秒。

 

連續性 |  Continuity

素描作為一個動詞,其本質上的意義,指向一種永不能完成的尋索  一

真正的事物存在於不斷測量與捕捉到的事物輪廓的 { 縫隙 }之間。

 

 

 

 

Free sketching - An expression of dynamic measurement

 

Like a pendulum swings at both ends - for stillness. Sketching is an instant presence that more about a dynamic measurement of  a specific position, not only about how to draw. 

To me,the concept of free sketching is an attempt to capture and a re-construction of memory and daily life experiences, it is a continue process of a dynamic description、a measurement on moving perspective、a sequence and a bond of various frequencies. Unlike traditional concepts of Sketching which more been concerned as a draft or the rough outline of its viewing objects through a fixed perspective that  tend to mimic the "appearance" of this world from visual perspective of view; free sketching is more about a continuous moving around process and inner vision that opens to new door and alternative path that  derived by its dynamic measurement and moving equilibrium — from center to  center, from an equilibrium to another equilibrium.

 

It is not about fighting for realism or abstract formula, neither the separation  of spiritual and materials, nor the split between subject and object. Free sketching act as  a way of change positioning,  a way of measurement , and a way of description that reflect the relationship between us and the surroundings.  This relationship is a continue flow relative to our position and movement, it is not fixed at all—  its always be concerned only at a moment.  At this moment, it is purely a perception of " time" ; Time is not a sculpture that fixed in shape somewhere, it is all about how we perceive '' a now" ; not past, not future , but just an instant moment that immerse us in all the past all future and all possibilities of " a now " 

Neither a moment of time is the same,

Noris different.

 

As a real verb, the intrinsic essence of sketching is an endless journey of discovering

— The realm is somewhere the " gap" exists.
